Tug Pegasus, New York Harbor. Built in 1907 for the Standard Oil Company, the Pegasus had an illustrious career towing ships in the New York harbor until the 1990s. Its work was then detoured by a nonprofit organization which took title to Pegasus and started to use the tug as a venue for maritime education programs for children. In need of substantial steel replacement and repair, a Fund loan helped pay for work on this boat which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
