345 Edgecombe Avenue is one of the last free-standing mansions in Manhattan. An individually designated City landmark, the property houses formerly homeless men and is owned by Broadway Housing Communities. A CVF grant of $25,000 was used toward the replacement of its roof – in clay tiles, the manner in which it was originally designed – instead of a lesser system.
