Some 500 Conservancy supporters gathered in a beautiful landmark setting at Cipriani 42nd Street on November 2 for the eleventh annual Living Landmarks Celebration. Guests helped raise over $675,000. Landmark Liz Smith hosted the gala, and Landmark Peter Duchin and his orchestra played.
Mayor Edward I. Koch received this year’s Lew Rudin Living Landmark Award for Outstanding Public Service. Beth Rudin DeWoody and Billy Rudin presented the award on the tenth anniversary of their late father’s induction as a Living Landmark. Pete Hamill, Elizabeth Rohatyn, Martin E. Segal, Sir Howard Stringer, and Barbara Walters were also honored as Landmarks.
