Preservation Issues

West Park Presbyterian

For more than 100 years, West Park Presbyterian Church on Manhattan’s Upper West Side has been serving its congregation and the larger community as a religious and social center. The Conservancy has been working with the West Park clergy, congregation, and neighbors to try to resolve the long-term maintenance issues of this magnificent Renaissance Revival building. On July 14, Conservancy staff joined elected officials, our preservation colleagues, and several dozen concerned citizens to testify at a hearing of the Landmarks Preservation Commission in support of designating West Park as an individual landmark. (Click here to read the full testimony). The Commission has not indicated when it will take a vote on the designation.
