Survivors Staircase
The Survivors Staircase was moved to a temporary location on Sunday, March 9, 2008, and will eventually reside in the 9/11 memorial museum.
The Conservancy was part of a coalition of preservation groups that fought for years to save the Survivors’ Staircase. We initially sought to keep it intact and in its original location at Ground Zero. Last summer we agreed to a compromise that will place the steps in the memorial museum. Yesterday’s move was both an engineering and preservation triumph.
